They were extremely helpful in picking the right sauna, and they delivered it up a flight of stairs before assembling it extremely promptly! There was a slight issue with the lighting and Ian remedied it within a day at no extra cost! He personally sourced the rogue item and came back to solve the issue himself. He and the team are genuinely great people.

As for the sauna, we use it nearly everyday, and have done for about a year now. It works like clockwork, and it’s incredible after a workout, or winding down before bed. Can’t fault it at all, and I’d highly recommend if you were sitting on the fence about a sauna, or who to buy from.

I have been thinking about investing in a sauna for a long time to help with my arthritis. I moved home last year and took the opportunity to finally get one. Ian was extremely helpful and then patient while I had an extension built.

The sauna was installed by Ian and his team with the minimum of fuss now I am using it a number of times a week and can see the benefits for arthritic pain already.

I must say that the sauna that Ian has provided is better quality than expected so I am very happy with it.
Many companies don’t want to know you after they have your money but Ian is quick to respond and provides great after sales service as well.

After a recent trip to Canberra to visit a friend, who has his own sauna and explained to us the health benefits of its use, we came back to Adelaide and explored our options, before deciding to visit ‘the Sauna King’ showroom at Clovelly Park. 

After having a good look at the options available we decided that a 2 person sauna would suit us perfectly.  We paid our deposit that day and low and behold, I got a message from Ian Groom that night to let me know the sauna would be delivered and installed the very next day.  Wow – what service!  So Ian and Ryan promptly delivered and installed the sauna next day as promised and we were in it that evening and have so for every day since installed. 

We absolutely love it and feel very refreshed after using it and my wife feels her skin has also benefitted in the short time we have been using the sauna.

The quick and caring way in which he installed our sauna was most impressive as was his follow up advice and patience with all of my queries.

Unlike many other businesses, when we had to sell the sauna for personal reasons 4 years later, I was very pleasantly surprised by his very willing and generous advice and encouragement throughout the process.

I have no hesitation in recommending him to any other purchaser.

After many years of threatening to by myself a sauna but demoting the thought on the ‘what do list’ and limiting saunas to Aquatic Centre Visits, COVID finally sent me over the edge.  Suddenly the thought of having to share this space with others in a commercial aquatic centrewas no longer that appealing.

Long story short I had already laid a concrete slab in an appropriate spot in our backyard.  I have searched ‘saunas for sale’ intermittently for years but I have never been keen on an infrared and any ‘outdoor’ traditional sauna that I could find on the market just didn’t seem sturdy enough.  Being on Phillip Island I had only searched in Victoria.  When I extended my search for some reason, I found ‘The Sauna King’.  I thought, ‘well I’ll be the judge of that’. 

I read the blurb on most ‘outdoor’ saunas being designed for under cover areas and couldn’t agree more.  Not sturdy enough.  Then I saw Ian’s pictures of a sauna looking like a solid cubby house with colour-bond roof, and internal shots that truly looked like a smaller version of a commercial sauna and that was it – if I ever did bite the bullet this is the one I would want.

As my 60th birthday approached my six kids got together and decided to surprise me with a sauna.  My wife urged them to check with me first as if I got a sauna I was not happy with I might ‘sook up’ – and she’s dead right.  No brand name needs to be mentioned, but their selection was one I’d dismissed.  I suggested I order one through ‘The Sauna King’ – they’re budget would become the deposit and I’ll pick it up from there. 

Ian was so good to liaise with through this process.  After some general chit-chat and handy suggestions I sent through the dimensions and floor plan.  I was given regular updates as to the progress, delayed a little by having to source cedar from different places due to high demand during Covid.  A couple of weeks later and it’s being freighted from Adelaide and a few days after that it’s sitting on a pallet in my garage. 

There is some weight in it so don’t think you can whack it up yourself, but sturdy is what I wanted. With the help of my son-in-law (a carpenter) and a couple of heavy lifters we had it up in a few hours.  Electrician in to wire it all up and Robert’s your father’s brother. 

The only thing I have been disappointed with is that I waiting so long.  On a scale of 0-10 of how happy I am with the finished product and how it works – it’s off the charts.  You pay more than the cheaper flimsy ones but this is the sauna you want.

My biggest recommendation to anyone else is advice given to me by a friend of mine who is a jockey and has had a few different saunas over the years.  That is – don’t go too big.  2m x 2m is what he suggested and this just happened to be the dimensions of my pre-laid slab. Means is heats up quick and very efficient.  Each to their own though. Ian was very accommodating in making it to fit the area and forthcoming on how to trim costs a little bit. For example he suggested I didn’t need a floor because I was putting it on a concrete slab.

In summary I cannot recommend The Sauna King highly enough.  Though we had not met and I was buying sight unseen, he sounded like he was riddled with integrity and never was I the slightest bit nervous about the process.  So if you’re a sauna freak like me, do yourself a favour and speak to ‘The Sauna King’.

Well after an extremely bad experience purchasing a steam sauna from a company in Sydney that was poor quality and faulty and was eventually returned to this very difficult company I decided to call The Sauna King in Adelaide.

My first thoughts after speaking with the Owner Ian Groom was how professional and concern for Customer satisfaction Ian showed. He not only thoroughly explained the Infrared Sauna system to me, but he allowed me to go to his warehouse and view an Infrared Sauna on display.

As it turns out with again very professional Customer Service, we negotiated a great price for me to purchase the Corner Infrared Sauna on display and he offered to deliver and install the Sauna at no extra cost to me.

The Sauna was delivered and installed by Ian and his staff and it included a few extra goodies at no charge, and I have to say I absolutely Love the Sauna which I use daily and the Canadian Cedar gives the sauna a very nice aroma as well as it looks great.

I absolutely categorically Recommend The Sauna King to anybody in the market for a Quality Sauna as you will be dealing with an Excellent Company run by a very professional and caring owner and a very reliable staff, and I highly recommend the Infrared Sauna.

We bought a traditional self-assemble sauna from Ian at The Sauna King in 2020 and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product and the service that we received throughout. Having moved to Australia from Northern Europe I was quite keen to find a high-quality traditional sauna for my home. I have to say that I’m very impressed with the Sauna King Colorado model.

Ian had it shipped within a few days and at a fair price. It’s beautiful timber and was so easy to set up. In fact, I assembled it all by myself, as my partner was at work the day it arrived and I just couldn’t wait.

It took just about 20 minutes to assemble all the panels and then another 1h-1.5h to get all electrical devices to work (sauna arrived with DVD and HDTV screen).
